Dorset Savoury Scone Tea
Pot of tea for one or two (English breakfast Tea)
Milk and Sugar (optional)
Served in a cup and saucer.

1 - Marmite portion.
Dorset Apple Cake
8 oz self raising flour
4 oz butter, softened
4 oz caster sugar
½ lb cooking apples, peeled, cored and diced.
Grated rind of one lemon
1 medium egg, beaten
2 oz sultanas (optional)
Set oven to 375°F or Mark 5. Grease an 8 inch round cake tin. Put the flour into a large bowl and rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar, diced apple, lemon rind, egg and then mix well. Add and stir in the sultanas, if desired. Put the mixture into the cake tin and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden in colour.
This simple to make cake can be served warm with cream or custard as a pudding.
